Updated information on COVID-19 and Flu: Restricted visitation is now in effect

Medicare, Medicaid, and most private health insurance policies provide hospice coverage. If a patient is unable to pay, private donations enable us to offer a scholarship.

People of any age, with any illness, may receive hospice care. Two main guidelines help determine when this care is appropriate:

  • If the patient has a possible life expectancy of six months or less assuming the disease continues its normal course. Hospice care can continue if the patient exceeds the six-month life expectancy.
  • If the patient chooses to change the focus of care from active treatment to comfort care.
