2020 Support Group Schedule

The Sparrow Hospice Bereavement Program is available to provide support and companion individuals who are experiencing grief and loss related to the death of a loved one. The services provided are available to the families of our hospice patients as well as to the community. These services are free of charge and range from short-term individual counseling, support groups, and educational literature about the grieving process and what to expect.

​All support groups are resuming in-person meetings as listed below. This is subject to change given fluid circumstances surrounding COVID-19 pandemic. Please contact Jen (info above) to confirm group meetings if new restrictions are enacted again.

All groups will follow current guidelines, including screening process at building entrance, all participants must wear masks, and maintain 6-feet distancing.

For those who are uncomfortable or unable to attend groups in person, all LANSING groups are available via teleconference call-in at the number below.

Grief Education Groups
This series covers grief related topics, including what to expect while grieving, myths & realities, coping skills, self-care, memorials & rituals, and creating a new normal. This is an ongoing group that can be joined at any point, and if continued over the course of a full year, will cover all the topics.

Explore gentle creative responses to grief in a safe, supportive environment, guided by a music therapist and a social worker.

Men’s Group

Peer led support group for men only. This group will focus on navigating the grief journey together. Light refreshments provided.
