Simply put, Sparrow’s Birth Services has the best team available in the region, from mid-Michigan’s only board-certified perinatologist, to highly skilled surgeons and neonatal specialists who can handle any situation that arises before, during and after delivery.

Project Baby Deer Sparrow is one of only four hospitals in Michigan participating in the Baby Deer Project sponsored by the Michigan Health and Hospital Association. This genetic testing can provide families with early diagnosis of genetic diseases in infants and children to help in medical decision making including use of medications and treatment options. It also allows clinicians to start life-saving treatments, avoiding unnecessary tests/procedures, and shorten hospital stays.

Through Project Baby Deer, Michigan offers rapid whole genome sequencing (rWGS) to all acutely ill infants and children up to 18 years old that meet clinical criteria, regardless of location or type of insurance.
