Cardiac Intensive Care Unit

This 16-bed unit provides direct patient care for cardiac, medical and surgical critically ill patients. It is a full service critical care monitored unit, providing opportunities to maintain and improve skills in the overall assessment and care of the critically ill patient. Specialties include but are not limited to care of patient requiring IABP monitoring, CHF Solutions System 100, and care of the multi-system failure patient.

Intensive Care Unit

This 18-bed unit admits patients with a variety of diagnoses ranging from acute medical/surgical to immediate post-op open-heart patients. Specialties include CRRT, IABP, open heart surgeries, and functions as the primary surgical intensive care unit.

Neuro Intensive Care Unit

This 14-bed unit provides care for patients with neurologic problems including closed head injuries and pre- and post-operative craniotomies for brain tumors, aneurysms and ventriculoperitoneal shunts. This is a designated Intensive Care Unit for trauma patients from Level I Trauma Center. We have a patient mix of 50% trauma and 50% neuro.

Our Unit Based Council is a major decision making force for the unit. Among the issues that have been addressed: scheduling, holidays, stocking, unit celebrations, nurse/physician relationships, RN satisfaction, discharge and transfer times, and patient satisfaction.
