When to Register
We recommended that you finish class one month prior to your due date if you are in your 8th or 9th month, you may still register. Choose a scheduled class based on your due date and your availability. If possible, please register early to ensure a spot in the class you want. If you do not find a class date that is working for your schedule, please email: firstname.lastname@example.org give us a call at 517-887-7000 with your request, we may be able to open up new dates for classes.
Pre-registration is required for all classes.
Best Newborn Care Class Ever
Three 2-hour classes include everything you need to know about newborn care for mothers and support person/partner. Class is taught by a Certified Lactation Counselor or International Board Certified Lactation Consultant with advanced training in newborn care.
Cost: $120 per couple
Breastfeeding Class is taught by a Certified Lactation Counselor or International Board Certified Lactation Consultant. This class will teach all the basics of breastfeeding and go into depth about latching, positions, and strategies for returning back to work including pumping.
Cost: $55 per couple
Childbirth Comprehensive Package
These five classes combine 2 Labor & Delivery classes with 3 classes in The Best Newborn Care Class Ever. You will learn about labor, delivery, breathing, relaxation, labor rehearsal and all the essentials needed for the care of a newborn, including infant CPR.
Cost: $195 per couple

Infant Safety with Infant CPR
This two hour class is designed for anyone that may be taking care of an infant, a great class for grandparents
Infant CPR, choking, car seat safety, safe sleep, pet safety, home safety, safe formula preparation and managing crying needed for safe care of both baby and parent. Information for taking care of an infant has changed from generations past, this is a good class for grandparents.
Cost: $45 per couple
Labor & Delivery
Two evening classes or two Saturday morning classes provides education and information preparing you for decisions you will be making during your labor and delivery experience.
Cost: $90 per couple
Labor & Delivery Express
One evening class provides a condensed version of the Labor & Delivery class.
Cost: $55 per couple
One-Day Prenatal Seminar
Saturday class from 9:00am to 4:00pm. This class is a condensed faster-pace class for those with a tight schedule, there is minimal practice time in this condensed class. Participants are asked to bring a non-perishable lunch.
Cost: $130 per couple
Capital Area Baby Café
Baby Café is a weekly drop-in place for breastfeeding moms and their babies (siblings and support person (this includes fathers) are welcomed, too). This relaxed and friendly free cafe will be a place for moms to meet and chat with other nursing moms and get their questions answered. Baby Café is open every Wednesday from 10:00am to 12pm. Baby Café meets at Pennway Church of God at 1101 E. Cavanaugh Lansing MI 48910. Pennway Church is one block east of Pennsylvania on Cavanaugh. Park in northeast parking lot.
*If Lansing School District is closed due to severe weather, Baby Café is also closed. Baby Café is not open on holidays.

Free tour of the Sparrow Labor and Delivery and Mother/Baby Center 1215 E. Michigan Ave. Lansing MI 48912 **Please note that EPO is no longer running tours for Sparrow L&D and Mother/Baby Center. Please contact Sparrow Volunteer Services to register for tours.
Physicians Health Plan (PHP) and Sparrow Physicians Health Network (SPHN-Sparrow Associates only) offer prenatal classes as a benefit. They will cover the class fee for the following classes:

PHP or SPHN only Registration- insurance coverage will pay the full class fee.

A $10.00 processing fee will be charged for all refunds.
No refunds will be given after your scheduled class/series has begun.
Refunds for the all classes must be requested at least 5 business days before the class start date.
No refunds will be given for the e-Class Program after the invitation link has been sent.
